Clyst St George
Church - a lovely old church - first church bombed in the second world war! all welcome - services vary please see board
Pub - George and Dragon - a Vintage Inn pub -  very welcoming and good food.

Bridge Inn - a very old and traditional real ale pub - the only pub the Queen has been in and they serve Pebblebed Wines - a real honour - not really in our village but walkable across the valley just before  Topsham on the main road - 15 min walk - 10 min cycle.

The Diggers pub at Woodbury Salterton - right at top of our lane - through ford and then to end of road - turn right at T junction and then 1 mile to village - pub in centre - 15 min cycle - good food and Beers.

Topsham - 30 min walk - 15 min cycle - 5 min drive
The old port of Exeter a wonderful old town with many independent shops and good restaurants.  Pebblebed has a wine bar in an old vaulted cellar near the Quay open most lunchtimes and evenings.

Swimming pool May to September - wonderful open air swimming pool.
Turf Lock Pub and Ferry - Turf Lock pub is on the otherside of the estuary - you can take the Ferry from Trouts Boatyard near the Topsham Quay or take the passenger ferry across from the Passage Inn and walk 10 min down the canal.

Get the bus (from the George and Dragon pub no.57) or best the Train from Topsham into the centre of Exeter.
Cathedral area is great

All the modern shops such as Apple and all saints - look for Princesshay
Eating - Wagamamas - pizza Express Giraffe - Great Thai restaurant - Jasmine -  in South Stree

Woodbury Common -  
one of our favourite places for walks - great even in poor weather as a mixture of woodland and heath walks - 10 min drive - head through Woodbury on main road and up long hill - straight across crossroads and car parks on right and left right on main road out of Clyst St George  - one of our favourite places for walks - great even in poor weather as a mixture of woodland and heath walks

Haldon Forrest - Great walks amongst forrest - GoApe zip wire attraction www.goape. - back onto the M5 and then head towards Plymouth at top of haldon hill take racecourse turning and then right to forrest walks

Dartmoor - 30 min drive - see guide books - great walks - great pubs


Exmouth - 2 miles of sandy beach - cycle 25 min along cycle path - head to Darts Farm on way to Topsham and left along cycle path

Budleigh Salterton - 15 min drive away or cycle to Exmouth and across to Budleigh 2 hour round trip with stops.

Sidmouth - 30 min drive - lovely shops and seaside front

Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis - further to the east - great cliff walks and small villages with pubs and restaurants.
